Helsingin NMKY järjestää 15.-17.5. Helsinki Basketball Festival juniorikoripalloturnauksen, johon osallistuu 168 joukkuetta seitsemästä eri maasta. Koriksen täyteinen viikonloppu pitää sisällään myös muuta ohjelmaa tapahtumatorin muodossa!
Tänä vuonna HBF-turnaukseen sisältyy ensimmäistä kertaa myös Namikoiden Euroopan mestaruuskilpailu. YMCA Europe ja Helsingin NMKY yhteistyössä sopivat, että U15 tyttöjen ja poikien sarjoissa ratkotaan HBF-mestaruuden lisäksi Namikoiden Euroopan mestaruus. Käytännössä tämä tarkoittaa sitä, että U15 sarjojen parhaiten sijoittuneet YMCA/NMKY joukkueet kruunataan Namikan Euroopan mestariksi.
Namikoiden Euroopan mestaruutta on ratkottu monia vuosikymmeniä aikuisten tasolla. Tänä vuonna se ratkotaan ensimmäistä kertaa myös junioreiden kesken Helsinki Basketball Festival -turnauksessa! Molemmat sarjat pelataan Namika Areenalla.
Helsingin NMKY will host the Helsinki Basketball Festival junior basketball tournament on May 15–17, with 168 teams from seven different countries taking part. In addition to a weekend full of basketball, the event will also feature a festival area with various side activities and entertainment.

The first-ever YMCA European Junior Champions will be crowned at the Helsinki Basketball Festival
This year, for the first time, the Helsinki Basketball Festival tournament features the YMCA European Championship. YMCA Europe and Helsinki YMCA have agreed that U15 girls’ and boys’ teams will compete not only for the HBF title, but also for the YMCA European Championship title. In practice, the highest-placed YMCA teams in the U15 categories become the YMCA European Champions.
The YMCA European Championship has been contested at the adult level for decades. This year, for the first time, the title will also be decided at the junior level during the Helsinki Basketball Festival tournament. Both categories will be played at Namika Areena.
